Best Toothpaste
There are no translations available.

It is very difficult to choose the desired toothpaste when walking beside the toothpaste shelf in the store . Dentists agree that as long as toothpaste contains the article "fluoride" then the manufacturer does not affect its effectiveness. All toothpastes containing fluoride resist plaque and cavities efficiently. Of course, this in addition to its ability burnish teeth and thus make them more solid and less prone to bacterial attack.

It is worth mentioning that there is no one study prefer certain toothpaste. But the American Dental Association stresses that it the word "fluoride" should be written clearly on the toothpaste pack .

But what is fluoride?

fluoride is one of natural minerals, and it is the 17 most prevalent in the Earth's crust. It is abundantly available in the soil and water , but in very small amounts in plants and animals. fluoride is artificially added to some dental care products such as toothpaste, mouthwash, and some pharmaceuticals. In the USA, and most European countries fluoride is added to fresh drinking water because of its multiple benefits .

What are the benefits of fluoride?

Fluoride has many benefits, including:

strengthen teeth: The fluoride in combination with enamel (outer layer) and make it more solid and less vulnerable to bacterial attack.

fighting bacteria: The fluoride has anti- bacterial effect.

Restoration of initial caries: fluoride can repair or rehabilitate the enamel layer in the early stages of decay. the fluoride fights bacteria and strengthens the enamel layer, and thus restoring the tooth and remove the caries. It should be noted that fluoride cannot repair deep cavities , which are difficult for fluoride access . in this case cavities require fillings under dentist supervision.

What types of toothpastes and what distinguishes them?

the fluoride has many benefits and is a key component of effective toothpaste. But this does not mean that different toothpastes has different benefits and features, as follows:

sensitive teeth: If your teeth are sensitive, you should use anti-allergic toothpaste because of its basic components, sodium chloride or potassium nitrate, which would protect the canals having nerve supply inside teeth .

fighting tartar: sodium phosphate is one of the key components of anti-tarter toothpastes. It does not remove the tarter , but working to prevent the formation of tarter on the borders of the gums. excessive use of this type may cause sensitive teeth in some people.

Anti-microbial: for those antimicrobial toothpastes, which contain - triclosan - which is considered a contributing factor in the bacterial fight process , These pastes remove the bacteria that cause gum disease, but do not act to remove tarter accumulated on the teeth.

Sodium bicarbonate - Baking Soda: The sodium bicarbonate is considered of abrasives which may cause gum irritation when used for long periods. The only benefit of using these types of toothpastes is to give you a sense of freshness in your mouth which urge you to prolong the process of brushing teeth.

Teeth Whitening:Whitening toothpastes contain abrasives ingredients that weaken the teeth. And may cause irritation to the gums and sensitivity of the teeth. Besides, they do not bleach teeth as effectively as do teeth whitening materials that are found in the dentist's office or that are sold in pharmacies.

Always , during brushing your teeth try to use a toothbrush with soft bristles so as to prevent gum receding . You should also put a small amount of toothpaste of the size of a grain of peas , unlike what we see in commercials. Also try to brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes. As you know tooth brushing shall always be accompanied with floss every day.
